那是在高二的第二学期，我已经开始筹备SAT和托福，我决定去美国读大学。我不只要完成课堂上的学习内容，而且还在空闲时间学英语。我天天非常紧张，背负了非常大的重压。有时非常累，我的心情也非常糟糕。所以，有一天，一个朋友叫我去参加户外活动。我非常高兴便去了活动现场。我发现这不是一个普通的户外运动，这是一场极限运动秀，主如果小轮自行车越野和滑板。他们的表现很让人开心和刺激，极限运动看着也非常危险。比赛结束后，我跟极限运动的玩家聊天，发现其中大多数都是学生。出人意料的是，他们都非常年轻，最年轻的只有15岁。他们并没天天都紧张的学习，而是为了成为极限运动明星的目的而努力。他们觉得学习是生活的一部分，都爱极限运动，所以花了不少时间在上面。随着着大家开心的交谈，我发现极限运动的另一面。极限运动在舞台上确实很让人开心，但台下的练习是很不简单的。有时，一个持续一秒的动作，需要在用前训练上百次。而且受伤是比较容易发生的。比如，尹嘉谦，中国最好的自行车越野选手之一，在练习中就伤了他的头部，休息了两个多月。尽管在极限运动中有这么多困难，但很多人仍坚持热情。
虽然大家是不一样的圈子，他们把学习作为一种娱乐，我把学习作为我所有些生活。大家在某些方面都是一样。极限运动玩家可以苦练，成为极限运动的明星，我也可以通过我的好好学习去美国研究我的商科。因此，如此的历程让我了解了一个道理，其他人期望做成一些事情，只不过热情和爱是不够的，还需要认认真真的工作。
